MEET EMMA
Hi! I’m Emma, and my path to becoming a therapist began with curiosity and compassion. Growing up, mental health wasn’t something we often talked about, and seeking therapy once felt unfamiliar. Over time, I learned that healing is about slowing down, feeling safe with who you are, and making space for every version of yourself.
At HS Therapy - Healing Space I offer both virtual and in-person therapy in Whitby. I work with children, youth, and young adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem, trauma, and family challenges. My approach is gentle, trauma-informed, and grounded in empathy, offering a space where you can begin to feel seen, soothed, and supported in your mental health journey.
My Story Is My Why
Mental health was not something that was considered or even labelled growing up in my immigrant Caribbean household. When I first found myself in need of therapy, I felt ashamed, confused, and unsure if it was meant for me. Over time, I learned to identify and sit with my emotions, to hold space for the person I am now and the person I was before.
Coming from a place of empathy and compassion, I believe that children, youth and young adults deserve to feel seen, safe, and secure in life and in interpersonal relationships. I remember what it was like to be that child who did not feel worthy, felt misunderstood and not seen. This is a feeling I want no child, youth or young adult to feel. .
At HS Therapy – Healing Space in Whitby, I offer trauma-informed, emotion-focused, and integrative therapy for children, youth, and young adults navigating anxiety, self-esteem, family challenges, cultural identity, and life transitions.
