Meet Edith Henriquez-Perry
Hi! I'm Edith, and my path to becoming a therapist began with my own experience of seeking support after trauma — a turning point that changed the entire direction of my life.
I offer in-person therapy in Whitby, Ontario and virtual therapy across Ontario, supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, mood disorders, BPD, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I know firsthand what it feels like to finally be truly seen, heard, and supported — and that experience lit a fire in me that has never gone out. I believe that reaching out for help takes real courage, and I honour that by creating a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you can move at your own pace.
As a bilingual (English/Spanish) Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) based in Whitby, I bring over 20 years of experience in rehabilitation counselling, mental health, and trauma-informed care — along with specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a powerful evidence-based approach to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences. I bring all of this, along with genuine warmth and a deeply collaborative spirit, to every session.
Whether you are looking for anxiety therapy, trauma therapy, or support through a major life transition, I am here — with the belief that healing and growth are possible, no matter where you are starting from.
My Story Is My Why
There are things we carry for years before we understand their weight. For a long time, I moved through life shaped by experiences I had never been given space to process. Seeking support after trauma was the turning point that changed everything — because for the first time, I felt what it meant to be truly seen and heard. That experience didn't just help me heal. It showed me exactly the kind of therapist I wanted to become.
That is why I offer trauma-informed therapy in Whitby and virtually across Ontario. And that is how I show up for every client — with warmth, empathy, and an unwavering belief that healing is not only possible, it is something you deserve.
My approach integrates EMDR therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — so that therapy in Whitby or online is always shaped around you, your story, your needs, and your pace. I am deeply committed to culturally responsive care, and I work in both English and Spanish, because healing should never be limited by language.
If you are searching for a therapist in Whitby or an Ontario-wide virtual therapist who truly gets it — I will meet you exactly where you are, with compassion, curiosity, and a deep belief in your capacity to move forward.
My Therapeutic Approach
I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities to meet you exactly where you are. At the heart of my work is a trauma-informed lens — because understanding the roots of our pain is often what makes lasting change possible. I tailor every therapeutic relationship to the individual, blending approaches that best support your unique story, needs, and goals.
Modalities I draw from include:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
